Life threatening heart problem misdiagnosed too often, survivor says

Sue Glassey was biking with a friend when she felt a popping in her chest, followed by a sickening pain.

She guessed what it was – she’d read about similar symptoms through Google after being diagnosed with Marfan syndrome just months before.

Glassey had suffered an aortic dissection, a tear in the inner layer of the large blood vessel branching off the heart.

It’s life threatening, but it’s easily missed.
