Maintenance at the Hamilton water treatment plant

While maintenance and other work takes place in the pipelines used to add the fluoride to Hamilton water supply, Hamilton City Council has temporarily stopped the addition of fluoride.

Once completed the Council will restart fluoridation of the water supply to the same standard as previously supplied.

This work is expected to be complete by 5 June 2015 at the latest and possibly sooner.

Waikato District Health Board medical officer of health Dr Felicity Dumble said Hamilton City’s water treatment plant is state of the art and the staff there do an excellent job.

“We have been assured that fluoridation will recommence as soon as the work is completed.”
