Fiona McCarthy has accepted the position of director – Human Resources at Waitemata District Health Board.
Waikato chief executive Craig Climo announced the resignation to staff today.
“Our loss is Waitemata’s gain and I’m pleased that Fiona is staying in the health family.
“I thank Fiona for being an outstanding colleague and all that she has done in Waikato and the region over the last seven years,” he said.
Fiona has had 17 years in HR in the health sector, seven with Waikato.
“It is with a mixture of sadness and excitement that I tendered my resignation today.
“I have loved my time at Waikato DHB and will miss the people, the diversity of our business and the difference our work makes to people’s lives.
“My HR team are amongst the best HR practitioners I have worked with and I wish them continued success under new leadership.
“I look forward to continuing my leadership journey with Dale and the team from Waitemata DHB and give my best wishes to the outgoing HR Director Sam Bartrum who is heading to Northland DHB,” she said.
Fiona’s last day at Waikato will be Friday 8 August and she starts with Waitemata DHB on Monday 11 August.
